News: The Future Of Inazuma?

Having stumbled across an article on Trendy Net Nikkei regarding the future of the hit series Inazuma Eleven, sadly it doesn't seem too good from the eyes of Level 5.

When asked about how they feel Level 5 performed in 2013 they had a mixed response regarding overall performance. Releasing that year was Danball Senki, Professor Layton & The Azran Legacy & Inazuma Eleven Go! Galaxy. Despite being all good sellers each title performed worse than the predecessor which has placed a little doubt into Level 5 in regards of current series.

He mentioned that Level 5 never want to rely on just a singular series but with Professor Layton winding down & launching new I.Ps such as Fantasy Life, they had hoped Inazuma would of acted as a pillar until the new I.Ps had gained some traction.
Due to the dwindling sales of the latest game Level 5 are currently up in the air in regards to how to continue with the series, it's quoted that "Customers won't laugh at the same joke everytime".
They also go onto mention how they are looking forward to seeing how the new Inazuma Eleven Online will perform though very little else is said about it.

They ended the interview by saying for Inazuma to continue they have to fully reinvent it making it more than a game about "Finding new players, have matches & introduce a new system" as it would feel too close to previous game & that it would need a complete re-haul.

Here are first week sales for the series in Japan to show you

Inazuma Eleven (DS): 41,474
Inazuma Eleven 2 (DS): 280,597
Inazuma Eleven 3 (DS): 505,161
Inazuma Eleven 3 Ogre (DS): 175,604
Inazuma Eleven GO Shine/Dark (3DS): 135,259
Inazuma Eleven GO 2 Neppuu/Raimei (3DS): 168,179
Inazuma Eleven Go Galaxy Big Bang/Supernova (3DS): 91,643

As you can see the series has had mixed sales throughout with the lowest points being Inazuma 1 & Go Galaxy.

Hopefully LEVEL 5 continue to support Inazuma and we see more titles featuring Raimon's favourite sons.

Inazuma Eleven Go! Shadow & Light just recently released in EU & AUS, expect a review for this title within the coming weeks
